In the book, The Epic of Gilgamesh, a king named Gilgamesh is on a journey to find immortality. He encounters several obstacles along the way from the gods of the city of Uruk. In one section, he meets a man who ends his life by jumping into a vat of boiling water. On his way to find Gilgamesh, Enkidu says: “I have not encountered death in battle or in war.
